Spirals and Twists: The Evolving-Revolving Pose

This afternoon is dedicated to experiencing and understanding revolved standing poses. We'll talk about the benefits of twists, practice a range of preparations, and explore key concepts like: using the breath to deepen the poses; the work of the external obliques; and working safely with the sacrum. Not appropriate for beginners.
Spirals are a unique and naturally forming structure in nature. Even our DNA is built upon protein chain that spirals. Twisting poses relieve tension in the spine and allows space to occur between spinal vertebrae. During this workshop we will "evolve and revolve" as we delve deeply into the magic and healing power of twists and spirals in many yoga poses including revolved triangle, half-lord of the fishes pose and others.
